Shumoku Dori is one of those techniques that does not even look like Karate.
Shu or Tsuku, like tsuki means to stab or thrust. Moku, boku or ki means tree. Combined they can be translated as ‘wooden bell hammer’ and it resembles the the first attack with Tettsui Uchi.
The main technique is the throw which is a type of Sutemi - sacrificing techniques.
They are called sacrificing techniques because you are going down to the ground yourself instead of just your opponent. The skill is to use the momentum of your own body falling and use that power to control and throw your opponent.
