Remember: the basic position is not limited to just that. And it's a BASIC position >> there are subtleties to the shape and when you know those suddenly it becomes more versatile.

how to apply koko

Although you can use Koko to attack different body parts, the throat is let's say "the basic" (+ one of the most effective as well).

Use koko to occupy your opponent fist, then attack


The flow is what is most important, which you can only see on performance speed.


Note especially the trajectory of the right arm.


Koko is used to guide the opponent and continuously attack which makes this form good practise. Especially if you want to learn how to use Koko.

At the time, we still practised a lot of Sanbon Kumite. This one featuring Koko is a quite unique addition by Ishikawa Sensei.
